Existing Conditions Report (1.69 MB pdf)
Early in the study process the team examined Wellsboro’s demographic data, charted its transportation-related trends, developed an inventory of its existing transportation system, and assessed how well it is functioning. This link provides the report on existing conditions and identifies potential safety and maintenance issues.
Parking Occupancy (1.29 MB pdf)
The availability of parking is an essential component of a community’s transportation system and economic vitality. The pending development of the Deane Center for the Performing Arts in the former Davis Furniture building is expected to have a significant impact on the demand for parking in downtown Wellsboro. This link summarizes results of a parking occupancy assessment conducted by the study team in October 2008.
Survey #1 Results (294 KB pdf)
In September 2008, the study team mailed a survey to every property owner in the borough—1,070 people. The survey was designed to gauge community preferences on a range of transportation-related issues identified through the project’s data collection efforts. The team received 276 completed surveys; the response rate of 26 percent is excellent for this type of mailing. This link provides highlights of the survey results.
Public Meeting #1 Presentation (2.5 MB pdf)
The project’s first public meeting, held in September 2008, introduced community members to the study’s goals and process and shared highlights of the data collection and issue identification efforts to date. Participants were encouraged to identify and discuss transportation-related issues with the study team. This link provides the presentation slides that comprised part of the public meeting.
